MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers were unable to overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as the silicone on the temples no longer accumulating dirt or getting damaged. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that couldn't be adjusted to different ear heights of the wearer were all resolved in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA eyewear is made from the highest quality medical-grade stainless steel with a thickness of only 0.5 mm, and its patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the lightest possible. The design is bold and innovative, while the robust material also achieves lightness and comfort, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-lightweight eyewear.
