MYKITA was founded in 2003 in Germany by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers were unable to overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as the silicone on the temples no longer collecting dirt or getting damaged. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that couldn't be adjusted to accommodate differences in ear height were all resolved in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from the highest quality medical-grade stainless steel, only 0.5 mm thick. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the lightest possible. The design is bold and innovative, and the sturdy material achieves a lightweight and comfortable effect, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-light eyewear.
