MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were previously the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone temple tips no longer collecting dirt or getting damaged. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that could not be adjusted for differences in the wearer's ear heights were all addressed and overcome in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from 0.5 mm thick, medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to a minimum. With bold and innovative designs, combined with durable materials that result in lightweight and comfortable products, MYKITA continues to lead the market for ultra-light eyewear.
