MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were previously the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during the ic! berlin era, such as silicone temple tips no longer accumulating dirt or breaking. Issues such as temples easily falling off and frames not being adjustable to accommodate different ear heights of the wearer were all overcome with MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from 0.5 mm thick, high-quality medical-grade stainless steel. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to a minimum. The design is bold and innovative, and the robust material also achieves lightness and comfort, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-lightweight eyewear.
