MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were previously co-founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear rectified design flaws that the two designers were unable to overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone temple tips that no longer accumulated dirt or became damaged. Issues like easily detaching temples and frames that couldn't be adjusted for wearers with differing ear heights were all resolved in MYKITA's eyewear. MYKITA glasses are crafted from medical-grade stainless steel, only 0.5 mm thick and of the highest quality. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the lightest possible. The design is bold and innovative, and the robust material also achieves lightness and comfort, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-light eyewear.
