MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers were unable to overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone temple tips that no longer trap dirt or break. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that couldn't be adjusted to accommodate differences in ear height were all resolved in MYKITA's eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from 0.5 mm thick, medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality. Their patented screw-less and solder-free hinge design reduces the eyewear's weight to a minimum. With bold and innovative designs, and durable materials that achieve a lightweight and comfortable effect, MYKITA continues to dominate the market for ultra-light eyewear.
