"Echizen Province" is the old name for Fukui Prefecture, the mecca of eyewear in Japan, while "Jinroku" is craftsman Masayuki Hasegawa's tribute to his father's name. Masayuki Hasegawa is an eyewear craftsman from Sabae City.

Born in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, Masayuki Hasegawa has been dedicated to crafting various handmade glasses for fifty years. To this day, he remains an active figure in the handmade eyewear industry as a renowned craftsman from Sabae City. Together with the brand's eyewear designer, Narishi Yonetani, their collaboration of innovative designs and traditional eyewear manufacturing techniques has made "Echizen no Kuni Jinroku-saku" products highly favored by handmade eyewear enthusiasts.
