"Echizen Province" is the ancient name for Fukui Prefecture, Japan's eyewear mecca, while "Jinroku" is a tribute by Masayuki Hasegawa, an eyewear craftsman from Sabae City, to his father's name.
Born in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, Mr. Hasegawa has been passionately crafting various handmade glasses for fifty years and remains an active figure in the handmade eyewear industry as an eyewear expert from Sabae City. Together with the brand's eyewear designer, Narishi Maitani, their collaboration of innovative designs and traditional eyewear manufacturing techniques has made the products of "Echizen Province Jinroku" highly sought after by handmade eyewear enthusiasts.
