"Echizen-koku" is the ancient name for Fukui Prefecture, Japan's renowned eyewear mecca. "Jinroku" is a tribute to the father of Masayuki Hasegawa, an eyewear craftsman from Sabae City.
Born in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, Masayuki Hasegawa has been passionately crafting various handmade spectacles for fifty years and remains an active figure in the handmade eyewear industry as a recognized craftsman from Sabae City. Together with the brand's eyewear designer, Shigeru Yonetani, their collaborative efforts in new designs and traditional eyewear manufacturing techniques have made "Echizen-koku Jinroku-saku" products highly favored by handmade eyewear enthusiasts.
