Japanese eyewear brand Japonism is meticulous in its pursuit of eyewear craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese culture and infusing the brand's soul with the unique fin-de-siècle aesthetic of 19th-century Japan, resulting in intricate details and modern beauty.
Japonism was founded in 1996 by Mr. Komatsubara, combining traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern eyewear aesthetics. Breaking through the limitations of eyewear design, it integrates both "functionality" and "fashion," flawlessly applying the techniques of "mechanical structure" and "weight balance." Each pair of glasses undergoes over a hundred high-quality production processes, born in Sabae, a renowned eyewear center. The unique molds are crafted by certified senior workshops in Fukui, where artisans utilize techniques and workmanship passed down for over a century, meticulously handling every detail. The frames conform to the wearer's facial contours, maintaining excellent balance between the front and back, and are carefully ground and polished, imbuing each pair of handmade glasses with extraordinary texture. This expresses the ultimate craftsmanship of "presenting the best to the world," with designs that are vibrant yet understated and simple, perfectly embodying the cool and resilient image of Japanese art. This is the most valuable aspect of "Made in Japan" eyewear.
