TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by the word "Tailor," perfectly reflecting the brand's mission to create exquisite eyewear that fits different individuals' needs, much like a tailor-made garment. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a sewing business, and for the craft of eyewear.
Each pair of glasses is manufactured by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create glasses that are as comfortable as custom-made pieces, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished products. For example, the unique "Damaged Colour" aging technique creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a sense of time-worn charm to the vintage style. Designed for Asian facial structures, the flexible S-shaped temples provide excellent coverage for the head. The distinctive T-shaped hinge not only offers a recognizable feature but also distributes pressure at the junction of the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip guide film, significantly increasing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
