TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand established in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective to create exquisite eyewear that fits each individual's needs as precisely as custom-made clothing. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a tailor shop, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is made by craftsmen in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product. For example, the most unique Damaged color aging technique creates a strong aged feel on the frame surface, adding a weathered, vintage sentiment to the retro look; the designer, specifically for Asian face shapes, uses S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide excellent coverage for the head; the unique T-hinge not only offers distinctiveness but also distributes pressure at the joint between the frame front and the temples, and the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, coupled with an anti-slip film, greatly enhancing durability.
