TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The brand name "TAYLOR" is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's mission to create exquisite eyewear that fits different individuals' needs, much like custom-made clothing. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is meticulously crafted by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit and comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product. One of the most unique is the "Damaged Colour" antiquing technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a touch of time-worn nostalgia to the vintage style. Designed for Asian facial structures, the flexible temples are crafted with an S-shaped curve, providing excellent comfort around the head. The distinctive T-shaped hinge not only offers recognition but also disperses pressure at the joint between the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of titanium, which is resistant to deformation, and feature an anti-slip coating, greatly enhancing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
