TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handcrafted eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective to develop exquisite eyewear that fits different individuals' needs, just like custom-made tailoring. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is meticulously crafted by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit and comfortable eyewear, the designer incorporates multiple details into the finished product. For example, the unique "Damaged Colour" aging technique creates a strong weathered look on the frame surface, adding a timeless, aged charm to the vintage design. Designed specifically for Asian face shapes, the S-shaped temples offer excellent flexibility and a good fit around the head. The distinctive T-shaped hinge not only adds to the brand's recognition but also distributes stress at the joint between the frame and the temples, while the integrated hinge design increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip film, significantly enhancing durability.
