TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective to create exquisite eyewear that fits different people's needs, much like a tailor-made suit. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is meticulously crafted by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create eyewear that feels custom-made and comfortable, the designer incorporates multiple intricate details into the finished product. One of the most distinctive features is the "Damaged color" aging technique, which gives the frame surface a strong vintage feel, adding a sense of aged sentiment to the retro styling. Designed specifically for Asian face shapes, the S-shaped temples offer flexibility and a good fit around the head. The unique T-shaped hinge not only provides brand recognition but also helps distribute pressure at the junction of the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge design enhances precision between components. The nose pads are made from deformation-resistant titanium with an anti-slip coating, significantly increasing durability.
