TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handcrafted eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective of developing exquisite eyewear that fits different people's needs, much like custom-made tailoring. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who opened a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is made by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit and comfortable eyewear, the designer incorporates multiple details into the finished product, such as the unique Damaged color aging technique, which creates a strong distressed look on the frame surface, adding a vintage, time-worn charm to the retro style; the designer's design specifically caters to Asian facial features, using S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide good coverage for the head; the unique T-shaped hinge not only provides distinctiveness but also disperses pressure at the junction of the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip guide film, greatly increasing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese artisans, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
