TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective of creating exquisite eyewear that, like bespoke tailoring, perfectly fits the needs of different individuals. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is made by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product, such as the unique "Damaged Colour" distressed coloring technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a timeless, worn-in feel to the vintage style. Designed for Asian facial structures, the S-shaped temples are flexible and provide excellent coverage for the head. The unique T-hinge not only offers distinctiveness but also distributes pressure at the junction of the frame and temples. The integrated hinge configuration increases precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, and combined with an anti-slip film, significantly increase durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely beyond doubt.
