TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor", aptly highlighting the brand's objective to develop exquisite eyewear that fits the needs of different people, just like a tailor-made suit. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who owned a tailor shop, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is manufactured by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product. One of the most unique details is the Damaged colour aging technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a vintage charm that has been refined by time to the retro style. Designed specifically for Asian facial features, the designer used S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide excellent coverage for the head shape. The unique T-shaped hinge not only provides recognition but also helps distribute pressure at the joint between the frame front and temples, and the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, and with an anti-slip guide film, durability is greatly enhanced. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
