TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective of creating exquisite eyewear that, like bespoke tailoring, fits the needs of different individuals. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who opened a tailoring business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is made by craftsmen in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit comfortable glasses, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product, such as the unique Damaged color aging technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a time-worn, vintage feel to the retro style. Designed for Asian face shapes, the designer uses S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide a good wrap around the head. The unique T-shaped hinge, in addition to being distinctive, also helps distribute pressure at the joint between the frame and the temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip guide film, greatly increasing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
