TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handcrafted eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective to create exquisite eyewear that, like bespoke tailoring, perfectly fits the needs of different individuals. At the same time, the entire brand name expresses the designer's respect for his tailor grandfather and the art of eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is meticulously crafted by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create eyewear that offers custom-like comfort, the designer incorporates multiple intricate details into the finished product. These include the unique "Damaged color" aging technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a time-worn, vintage charm to the retro style. Designed specifically for Asian face shapes, the S-shaped temples offer flexibility and comfortably wrap around the head. The distinctive T-shaped hinge not only provides a unique identity but also distributes pressure at the joint between the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge design increases precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip coating, greatly enhancing durability.
