MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were previously the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during the ic! berlin era, such as silicone arm tips no longer accumulating dirt or getting damaged. Problems like arms easily falling off and frames not being adjustable to compensate for different ear heights of the wearer were all resolved in MYKITA's eyewear. MYKITA eyewear is made from medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality, with a thickness of only 0.5 mm. Its patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the lightest possible.
