TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handcrafted eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," perfectly highlighting the brand's objective of creating exquisite eyewear that, like bespoke tailoring, fits the needs of different individuals. At the same time, the entire brand name expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who owned a tailor shop, and for the craft of eyewear.
Each pair of glasses is made by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create customized, comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product, such as the unique Damaged color antiquing technique, which creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a timeless, vintage feel to the retro style. Designed for Asian face shapes, the designer uses S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide excellent coverage for the head. The unique T-shaped hinge not only provides recognizability but also distributes pressure at the joint between the frame front and the temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of titanium, which is resistant to deformation, and feature an anti-slip guide film, greatly increasing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
