MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone temple tips no longer collecting dirt or getting damaged. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that could not be adjusted to accommodate differences in the wearer's ear heights were all resolved in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from the highest quality medical-grade stainless steel, only 0.5 mm thick. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the lightest possible. The design is bold and innovative, while the robust material also achieves lightness and comfort, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-light eyewear.
