MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone on the temples no longer accumulating dirt or breaking. Issues like temples easily detaching and frames being unable to adjust to wearers' differing ear heights were all overcome in MYKITA's eyewear. MYKITA eyewear is made from the highest quality medical-grade stainless steel, only 0.5 mm thick, and its patented screwless, solderless hinge design reduces the eyewear's weight to the lightest possible. The design is bold and innovative, while the sturdy material also achieves lightness and comfort, allowing MYKITA to continue dominating the market for ultra-lightweight eyewear.
