MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone on the temples no longer accumulating dirt or breaking. Issues like temples easily falling off and frames not being adjustable to the varying heights of the wearer's ears were all overcome in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA eyewear is made from medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality, with a thickness of only 0.5 mm. Its patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to the absolute minimum.
