MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as silicone temple tips no longer accumulating dirt or getting damaged. Issues like easily detachable temples and frames that could not be adjusted for differences in the height of the wearer's ears were all resolved in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from 0.5 mm thick, medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality. Their patented screwless and solderless hinge design reduces the weight of the glasses to a minimum.
