MYKITA was founded in Germany in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling were also the founders of ic! berlin eyewear. MYKITA eyewear corrected design flaws that the two designers could not overcome during their time at ic! berlin, such as the silicone on the temples no longer accumulating dirt or breaking. Issues like temples easily falling off and frames not being adjustable to accommodate wearers' varying ear heights were all resolved in MYKITA eyewear. MYKITA glasses are made from 0.5 mm thick, medical-grade stainless steel of the highest quality. Their patented screw-less and solder-free hinge design minimizes the weight of the glasses.
