TAYLOR WITH RESPECT is a Japanese handmade eyewear brand founded in 2017 by veteran eyewear designer Satoshi Waki. The "TAYLOR" in the brand name is inspired by "Tailor," aptly highlighting the brand's objective of developing exquisite eyewear treasures that fit the needs of different individuals, much like custom-tailored garments. At the same time, the entire brand name also expresses the designer's respect for his grandfather, who ran a sewing business, and for eyewear craftsmanship.
Each pair of glasses is crafted by artisans in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. To create custom-fit comfortable eyewear, the designer has incorporated multiple details into the finished product. For example, the most unique Damaged Color aging technique creates a strong aged look on the frame surface, adding a time-worn, antique feel to the retro style. Designed for Asian face shapes, the designer uses S-shaped lines to create flexible temples that provide excellent coverage for the head. The unique T-shaped hinge, in addition to being distinctive, also distributes pressure at the junction of the frame front and temples, while the integrated hinge configuration increases the precision between components. The nose pads are made of deformation-resistant titanium, combined with an anti-slip film, greatly increasing durability. These multiple details embody the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship, and the quality is absolutely unquestionable.
